PART 2: What Was Under the Floorboards

PART 4: The Downfall of Vance Construction

While Lydia was establishing Vance Heritage Holdings, Daniel was unraveling.

Vanessa had persuaded Daniel to take out massive high-interest loans to finance a fleet of luxury vehicles, a penthouse in the capital, and speculative real estate ventures that were bleeding cash. Worse, Vanessa had slowly manipulated Daniel into signing over executive signature authority for the firm’s offshore holding accounts.

When news broke that an unknown local firm—headed by a woman named Lydia Vance—had secured the primary development rights for the international airport project, Daniel was stunned. He rushed to his office to pull up the public property records, only to realize the land he had mocked as a “worthless pile of rot” was now worth over $100 million.

Desperate to capitalize on the boom, Daniel searched for Vanessa to leverage their remaining corporate capital—only to find his executive office cleared out.

Vanessa had drained $14 million from the company’s operating accounts, transferred the funds to un-traceable accounts in Switzerland, and boarded a private flight out of the country. Within forty-eight hours, Vance Construction was served with default notices, asset seizures, and federal fraud indictments.

What happened when Daniel came begging? Continue reading Part 5 below for the final resolution.
